Welcome Parents and Families of Movelle Primary School,

My name is Karen Wood and I'm extremely happy and proud to be Principal here at Movelle Primary School. I'm very passionate about education and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, primary school experience. As the parent of two children, a daughter 23 and a son 20, I recognise the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child's first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child's social, emotional, and academic needs are met. 

I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at Movelle. To do this, I be provide teachers and education support staff with feedback on their instruction, their relationships with the students, professional learning, care and concern about their own health and wellbeing. I also will be reaching out to parents for support with their child’s academic and social emotional learning concerns to ensure our students are prepared for the future.

I will be working closely with our Assistant Principals, Rachel Taverna Melissa Searle to ensure that our students are academically challenged and have access to the social and emotional support critical to every child’s needs.

I am so lucky to for the opportunity to work with the Movelle families in this role! I look forward to engaging with the community daily and getting to know you all.
